Journal entry by Lea Ann Reed —
Had some great news today! After finishing a round of radiation the beginning of December, I had follow up scans yesterday. Everything shrunk! The lymph nodes are now normal size or very, very close to normal.
Now we navigate some little charted waters. We could have continued with chemo, but my doctor has decided to take a wait and see approach. I don't have anything for the next couple of months!!!! This really is the best news I could have gotten. So excited to have a nice break from chemo.
Manage expectations. This is still a metastatic disease without a cure. I am sure we will have something pop back up at some point, it is just managing the disease at this point. Being able to get some breaks though is amazing!
Going to go live my life for awhile.
