Lawson’s Story

Site created on April 16, 2023

Several friends have recommended CareBridge to post updates about Lawson’s journey with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia), so I’m going to try posting the updates here instead of texting them out. I have added all of our past updates, to catch everyone up. We appreciate your prayers and encouragement more than you will ever know!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Stacy Brown

We just hit 14 hours with no fever reducer. 🎉 He is running a low grade temp, but his body is keeping it in the 99-100 range and that is great news! This is the 1st day since Monday that he hasn’t spiked to 102-103 every few hours.
They ran labs a few hours post transfusion and they ran them again at lunch time today. His white cell count increased from .3 to .39 (small jump but we are thankful). His hemoglobin increased from 9 to 9.4 (another small jump to be excited about). His platelets had decreased from 68 to 63, but they have put some new notes in his chart to NEVER let him drop below 30 EVER again! While he is in ICU, we were told they wouldn’t let them get below 50.  👏
Since Monday afternoon, he has only eaten a few chips and half of a cookie, so we would love to see him start eating a little. Right now he won’t even look in the direction of food.
Small improvements have happened today and hopefully we will see more small improvements with his 8 o’clock labs. Thank you for being so faithful to pray for our little man! He’s the toughest child I have ever met and been so sweet despite all of the craziness that he has went through!
