Lauren’s Story

Site created on June 10, 2019

Welcome! We will be using the site to keep everyone updated. There are lots of ways to support and encourage. If you would like to support financially, please use the kindful link below NOT the caringbridge donate. Thanks for being a part of the story!
Lauren was diagnosed with a non-cancerous tumor growth on her pituitary gland that is causing several health issues and interfering with normal hormone production. She will undergo surgical removal through the sinuses.

Journal entry by Lauren Percival

I’ve had a few follow up appointments and things are trending back the direction that we want to see.  The biopsy of the tumor showed it was mostly dead so hopefully no more re-growth in the future.  They took extra time to look around and didn’t see anything suspicious.

I will have follow up blood & hormone panels to make sure nothing pops up and quarterly MRIs for a while until we see how things have leveled out.

Thank you so much to everyone supporting me through this whether through prayers and encouragement, rides and picking up groceries, help with bills while I’m off work, or providing meals. I am overwhelmed by the kindness, love, and generosity.

I am now transitioning off of pain meds so hopefully will be driving again in the next week or so. I’m allowed to exercise as my body feels ready. Hopefully will be able to return to work soon as well. But I still have a couple more weeks of rest and recoup before I am will be back into full things.

I would appreciate prayer for sleep, energy, and digestion.  We can’t quite figure out what is up, but I’m having to eat pretty frequently to keep from getting disoriented, but I’m uncomfortable when I eat and after.  Sleep has been sporadic and fluctuates.  I would like to be more active and getting back involved in groups, but my body just isn’t ready.  I’m constantly being reminded by so many of you to have grace for myself and let myself rest and recover.

Thank you again for all your support.  I miss you all.
