Site created on July 17, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  Laurie was diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer little over a year ago. She had surgery to remove the breast and ovarian cancer along with chemo. It was a rough time on her. She had a few good months. Got to see her daughter get married. Shortly after the wedding she was diagnosed with stomach cancer. She is not able to have surgery on her stomach due to the fact that her stomach is filled with cancer cells so that is not an option.  She is a mother to three wonderful children. Who she loves with all of her heart. Laurie is a fighter. She has fought the first two cancers.

Journal entry by Holly Koch

Laurie was told that she might have to have a colostomy bag. Found out today that there will be no colostomy bag they are going to put in a tube into her stomach. So she has surgery Wednesday July 25th to have the to put into her stomach. She also has a nutritional IV in because she is not able to eat it upsets her stomach too much. Her hope was to be able to move into Hutch what she got out of the hospital. Her dr told her today that she is giving her the recommendation to get into harmony River. So the prayers that have been given towards Laurie has been such a gift. No colostomy bag thank God getting to live close to her kids thank God. So she is hoping within the next week she will be able to move to Hutch.
