Journal entry by Lacey Boston —
We are heartbroken to share that around 2AM this morning Laurie passed away tragically but peacefully with Dan, Andy, Becca and Lacey at her side.
This cancer journey has been cruel, aggressive, and wildly unpredictable for us all but most unfortunately very unfair to our dear Laurie. She was the kindest, sweetest, most Hunnish and loving person and she truly was surrounded by the love of her family in the last days of her life.
Around noon on Tuesday it was made clear that we were nearing the end and asked the family to come say their goodbyes. At 4:30 we crammed about 20 people in the room letting her know that it was okay to go. She rallied a few times after that- in all her waking moments she was asking about others and excitedly greeting new guests.
Services will be planned in the coming days and we will keep you all posted on what comes next.
Speaking for the family we would like to sincerely say that we are so grateful for the phenomenal care from her medical team and the outpouring of love and offers to help from every angle of our lives.
Love to all in their grief and mourning. Looking forward to reminiscing on the beautiful life she led and the magnificent legacy of love she has left us.
