Lauren’s Story

Site created on February 27, 2018

My husband (Scott) and I moved out to small and quiet Royse City, TX little over a year ago. We have 2 beautiful sons, Aidan 4 and Jaxon 1. I completed my degree in social work in December 2017and Scott works in pharmaceutical sales. In January 2018 we received the heart wrenching diagnosis of me having stage 2 cervical cancer. We were numb, scared but also had faith in God that we could beat this. I have started chemotherapy with radiation and moving towards having a total hysterectomy completed. I have had to step back from working while I go through treatment and Scott thankfully has been able to work from home.  I have an implanted port and also receive the medication Neulasta after each chemo treatment. This drug is a bone marrow stimulant and should help with white blood cell count. We appreciate everyone’s prayers and kind words and will do my best to keep everyone updated.

Journal entry by Lauren Robinson

I have definitely had my good and my bad days. Some days I feel as if I cannot get out of bed and other days I feel like I need a nice walk outside and hang out with my boys. I pray everyday that I am moving closer to having my hysterectomy, we first need to contain the cancer cells from spreading anymore. My support system is amazing and I couldn’t be more blessed to have such amazing people in my life 💖 this is another challenge in my life that I will conquer and come out of strong.
