Journal entry by Justina Meyer-Hillers —
Lauren’s final update: after my last post, Lauren’s EEG was not reading anything after her CT. Her pupils were nonreactive so they wanted to get another head CT thinking something was very wrong. Saturday afternoon, she was finally stable enough to be transferred to get a head CT. After the doctor talked with the neurologist and radiologist, we got the news that Lauren had suffered severe irreversible brain damage. He compared the 2 different CT scans and the one from Saturday showed nothing but one big gray spot.
Today John and I held our baby for the last time while she took her last breath. We are grateful she isn’t in any more pain or suffering and is able to be with her grandparents and great grandparents.
We thank everyone who has been with us and praying her her over the past year during this journey.
This is from John and Taylor.
