Journal

Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of when I was airlifted to Minneapolis.  I’m not out of the woods yet, but I definitely do not want to redo my last year!  One year ago, I was confused, exhausted, had blood-soaked hair, a gashed nose, EEG stickers all over me, and was being cared for in the neurological ICU of Abbott Northwestern Hospital.  Fast-forward to today and I only have three cycles of chemotherapy left!  I’ll head back to work at the beginning of August.  I’m ready to get back to normal.

I don’t have an update on if my tumor is responding positively to the chemotherapy (my tumor infiltrated healthy brain cells so is hard to read), but my doctor can tell my tumor is not growing, which is great.  I have MRIs with and without contrast as well as perfusion done bimonthly, which allows my doctors to monitor where blood is flowing in my brain.  No new blood is flowing to my tumor area, which means it is not growing.  Like I’ve said in previous posts, it’s hard to not get news of a shrinking tumor, but the doctors know what they’re doing so I just have to have faith in them.  And I do.

I think that’s all I have for now.  Hopefully the few flakes of snow that we saw today are the last!  Bring on the warmer temps!

Thank you, as always, for your prayers.  Love to you all.
