Laura had an eye Dr appt today so i thought it would be a good time to give a quick update.

Overall, she continues to make steady progress.  She is moving around well and pushes herself hard in rehab.  She actually walked around our block last week while only holding on to Grace's arm.  Our block is a 1 mile lap with significant hills.  Grace is Laura's primary caregiver and she does an incredible job for us.

Laura also rides her recumbent bike in our living room regularly to get her heart rate up.  Blood flow for brain injuries is critical.  She needs a good balance of sleep, rest and exercise.  She is working hard to maintain a healthy balance.

Over the past few weeks Laura has been reconnecting in social settings outside of our home.  Friends are picking her up for various social functions.  She can't stay up late but Laura wants and needs to be around friends so she doesn't miss many parties.  She gets energy and motivation from being around people as any extrovert can understand.  We are thankful for friends who volunteer to chauffer her to various events.

The eye Dr today was very positive.  Laura received a new prescription after a long visit.  she has been wearing glasses that were prescribed for her vision prior to the aneurysm.  I think a significant portion of her balance issues are vision related. Thanks to today's Dr visit, she has new glasses for distance and near vision. We are hopeful that the new prescription will enable her to see better and thus help improve her mobility.

We are just past the 4 month mark from her initial aneurysm rupture.  She has come an incredibly long way.  We were able to celebrate Thanksgiving at home with family and plan to do the same for Christmas.  Madeline has decorated our home for the holidays and our life is starting to feel more normal.  I didn't think that was possible 8 weeks ago and we are thankful for GOD's healing power.

We still have a long way to go but everyone continues to work hard....especially Laura.  Thanks to everyone who has and continues to support our family.
