Welcome to Laura’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportAt long last, we have good news to share. Not news that requires searching for the silver lining, but just actual, genuinely-good news.
Recently, Laura had her one-year follow-up MRI, and this past Wednesday she got the results from her neurologist. For the first time since her diagnosis in 2008, she had a clear, stable MRI that showed no new evidence of disease activity/progression. That’s a pretty big deal. That means since her last MRI, which was actually in the the summer of 2019, before her stem cell transplant, there has been no observable disease progression.
Of course, Laura will tell you, “I still can’t walk very well,” but never mind her for now. This is our first piece of concrete evidence that the transplant wasn’t for nothing. It’s no guarantee about the future, but it’s extremely promising, and I’m very excited. It’s been 12 long years of bad MRI reports, and this past week’s report fills me with much needed—and in Laura’s case, much deserved—hope.
Take care everyone!
Peter
