Laura Ann’s Story

Site created on May 26, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

My current story begins with having a double toe amputation on April 17, 2019.  I had stepped on a metal staple that became lodged deep inside my foot, it became so infected I ended up with surgery and i was septic. Very ill!
This month i was rehospitalized due to reinfection of wound which caused me to also be septic again. This was, in part, due to my insurance company refusing to pay for a wound vac to help it heal.
I'm currently in a skilled nursing facility. It's short term while i receive my antibiotic through an IV picc line and I have a wound vac this time.
