We’re pleased to report that Laura received a very low recurrence score of 10, which puts her well outside any recommendation of chemotherapy, so no chemo for Laura! That’s another answered prayer and a huge relief. Better than a Sugar Bowl win! Thank you again to all the family and friends who have prayed, helped out, and otherwise made this a much less difficult trial than it could have been. With that, I’m done at Caring Bridge and wish to thank them for providing this service. If you have found it helpful, then you might consider a small donation to help keep it afloat and useable as an otherwise free public service. And now a word from the patient herself ....

Dear family and friends,

I can’t find the words to express how much your prayers, cards, visits, texts and meals have meant to me and my family. Being prayed over by so many people is a humbling experience and one that I do not take lightly. Prayers truly sustained us. God so richly blessed me with the most wonderful husband of 39 years (as of last Saturday). I have held tightly to his hand throughout my diagnosis and treatment and he never once let go.

I’ve been praying that God will use this cancer so that I can help even one person. It has weighed heavily on my mind and as we left our oncologist office she gathered Ken and me in prayer and asked God to help me use this experience to encourage others to get their screenings. Prayer answered! If you are a woman or love a woman please make sure they are getting their annual mammograms. If you have been told you have dense breast tissue you must get a 3D mammogram AND an ultrasound. My doctor told me that finding cancer in dense breast tissue is like finding a snowflake in a blizzard. I knew I had dense breast tissue and had been having 3D mammograms for years and still this cancer was not found until my 2nd diagnostic mammogram.

Love,
Laura
