It is with a heavy heart that we share Larry passed away Wednesday evening.  He was at home surrounded by family.  It has been heartbreaking, but we are so thankful he is finally at peace.  Larry was an amazing man who influenced so many lives.  Please join us Tuesday 11/1/22 at Central Lutheran Church.  Visitation is at 9:30am and the service is at 11:00am.  Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the outpouring of generosity, prayers, words, visits, and love from friends and family.

Larry James Peterson 78, of Elk River, MN, passed away on October 26th after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Larry was born on December 7, 1943 to Raymond and Jeanette Peterson in Owatonna, MN. After Larry graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1961, he went on to study at the University of Minnesota where he played football for the Gophers and met his wife Gail.

After graduating from the U of M, Larry went on to pursue a long career in heavy duty truck sales and began his career at family-owned Crystal Motors.  Larry and Gail went on to have two children, Matt and Heather.  They lived in Maple Grove for many years and later moved to Elk River, MN.

After retirement, Larry worked part time for Dare’s Funeral Home and a truck delivery company, often driving across the country.  Larry spent most of his time at the lake, playing golf, working out at the local YMCA, helping at Central Lutheran, and watching sports.  Larry loved attending any and all sporting events.  Whether it was his grandchildren’s hockey games or local games and matches for friends, Larry wanted to be there and he was Grandpa Larry to all.

Larry was predeceased by; Raymond and Jeanette (father and mother) and Linda (sister).

He is survived by; wife Gail, children Heather (Matt) Westgaard, Matt (Brenda) Peterson, grandchildren, Alex (Sarah), Sam, Drea, Landon, Taylor, and great grandchild Harrison. Sister Mary (Steven) Swenson, along with many in-laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
