Journal entry by Mary Jo Legier —
Well, Larry has been home a week now and he’s doing great! He improves everyday and is anxiously waiting to regain his stamina. A shower seems like a marathon to him these days. We are settling into our new normal and next week we will add our Rosie back into the household. She is sunshine and we can’t wait! The doctor’s are pleased with his progress and we thank them everyday for savings Larry’s life. Larry uses a walker and needs to remember to not lift his arms or reach higher than his bellybutton. That is a hard one. He can’t use his arm to get up or down from a chair but is mastering using only legs to get up. He has 2 breathing exercises he does many times a day and walks laps in the house. Katie and Rosie stop by for visits on the porch. Katie has had a horrid cold so we haven’t seen much of her for fear that Larry would catch it. He uses a pillow to press on his sternum when he coughs. It helps reduce the pain with coughing. That’s the run down on Larry. Your kind words and prayers mean so much to both of us. Thank you.
