Larry’s Story

Site created on June 17, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.
Larry fell from a ladder in the garage on June 15th. He landed hard, breaking 15 bones, including his skull. He spent 24 hours in ICU at North Memorial Hospital, where they began treating him for TBI. He’s moved up to the sixth floor and has already started physical therapy.
By the way! Larry is allergic to flowers, and he has 11 broken ribs - sneezing is very very bad!

Journal entry by Monte Bloom

Day 26:
AKA - T minus 1! Tomorrow Larry heads home! He says to tell everybody that he’s getting better. He has his cell phone again and called Jane for the first time today. Jane asked him if he read any of his text messages, Larry said there were so many that he gave up!
You can call him on his cell, I don’t think texting will work (to be honest, he was pretty bad at it before his accident😁)
Jane and Larry both felt he’d be up for visitors, so give them a call and go see him when you get a chance.
This will be his last Caringbridge entry. Thank you all so much for your concern, comments and prayers. He’s still got a long road ahead of him, but he’s tough and he knows how to work. Fingers crossed for the guy!
I know Jane and Larry don’t like to ask for help, (they never ask for help) so my advice is, don’t ask, just do it!
