Newest Update

Journal entry by Ali Morris

Hello everyone! I wanted to get on here and do a quick update on Landon-post surgery. We had a check up on august 28th which included and ekg, echocardiogram and chest x-ray. He is only taking a small dose of Lasix ( diuretic) to help keep fluid out of his lungs which is pretty standard for post fontan kiddos and hopefully we will slowly but surely be off completely in the months to come. Also,he is still on his regular aspirin regimen. As for his heart…All looks great! Heart function is great and his saturation’s are in the mid 90’s compared to low 60’s to 70! I cried some happy tears that day. Since coming home Landon was on sternum precautions for 6 weeks. But as of the 28th everything has been lifted and he is back to being the bruiser that he is! Since coming home we celebrated Landons 4th birthday with family and it was a blast. Water balloon fight, piñata, water guns and the obvious DQ ice cream cake (the landmans fav) We are having a great summer enjoying boating with friends and family, lots of swimming at grandpa Ernies pool, days filled with his grandma kimmie and grandma Jean and lots and lots of cousin time. I think being with brother Bennett has been his all time favorite thing, they are two peas in a pod and Landon is Bennys shadow, which has also been fun to see. He even toured his new preschool which he is thrilled about starting in the fall. Landons energy levels are sky high and it has been a complete joy to watch him thrive in “normal” 4 year old things. Thank you all so much for following along on this crazy ride. We have been anticipating this day for years where Landon is feeling his best and to watch him thrive has brought many happy tears and an overwhelming amount of love to our family.I think myself, Eric and our moms especially have finally breathed deep and felt some of the stress fall away after this last surgery. I’m feeling incredibly thankful and blessed as we enjoy all of the easier days ahead.
Love and light,
The Morris’
