Landon’s Story

Site created on February 15, 2019

What started as a little bump & was thought to be a clogged tear duct turned out to be a tumor. After the tumor was removed the news that followed was horrifying. The mass was indeed cancerous. Now this little warrior has a battle & we're going to be there with him. This page has been created to keep everyone updated with Landon's progress.

Sadly Landon recently relapsed & the fight begins again. We had really hoped we wouldn't need to be using this site for Landon anymore, but we're in this fight together & keeping you updated along the way

Newest Update

Journal entry by Scott Coia

Okay, im 100% sure ill butcher this along the way🤦‍♂️ week leading up to September 18th landon had started to not talk out of his right side of mouth or close that eye.  Same side as 2 cancer spots have been on.  That weekend he had thrown up a few times with me but only in the vehicle when driving.  Dr said get into ED for immediate CT scan. Nervous of cancer being back or bells palsy scan came back great(we could finally breathe) assumed the palsy. As the week went on he had grown a few bumps behind his ear(cancer side) and dried blood in the ear. Again, get to the ENT asap. With that evaluation it was determined the ENT needed to do an emergency surgery to really determine if this was a bad infection or in fact, cancer was back. After a Saturday morning surgery the Dr was confident it was a nasty ear infection and to monitor cultures we would be staying at hotel giant for a few days. Tuesday comes, time for the MRI. Results came back very ugly. There was a big "blob" on same side as all other cancers have been on. Thus me getting a phone call from jess saying get to hospital ASAP Dr andolina has to talk.  As of now we are doing a CT tomorrow morning(9/29) roughly 9 am. We are hoping this same blob shows up on CT.  ENT is skeptical it's cancer and thinks it's fluid. We want that. If this blob does NOT show up on CT then we are in direction of cancer. If cancer, we probably do radiation and move our buttons to Boston because we would qualify for a clinical trial. It's been an extremely difficult almost 2 weeks for this family. We have the greatest big sister ever who can't wait to gavetime her brother everyday. Sorry for the extremely long and late update. Hope all are well.
