Jesse’s Story

Site created on April 17, 2023

Welcome, everyone. Our wonderful friend Jesse was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease over the winter, and he and Kevin have been battling though some scary, scary stuff to the place we're at today: Jesse received a new liver on April 12! This is wonderful news, but they need our support and help even more now as Jesse recovers. He is currently at UW Medical Center, hopefully moving out of ICU shortly.

Please check back often for updates and to see what's new in the the Ways to Help link. We're just getting this started, so more to come soon!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Sara Green Williams

Hi everyone - Jesse was released from the hospital but had to be readmitted yesterday. Sharing the update from the GoFundMe page here, as well - this is from Kevin:

"Jesse has been readmitted to the hospital. His 6th time since December.

They just reassured me that this is within the realm of “normal” for someone who was so sick prior to transplant and that the next three months could be full of ups and downs.

He’s being readmitted today because of:

Dehydration and malnutrition (needs a feeding tube and IV fluids)
tachycardia (likely due to severe dehydration)
Abdominal pain (completely normal in his case but they want to do a CAT scan to rule out infection, etc.) PLEASE continue to donate/share. Thank you all so much."

More soon, love to you all!
