Kym’s Story

Site created on April 18, 2023

Welcome to the quest to cure my tata's!  I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer on 3/31/23. Follow along with my ups and downs.  It's gonna be a wild ride friends!

My only request is for prayers for me and my family, but most of all for you!!!  This adventure is not just about me and my tata's, it's touching us all in different ways.  I hope you will find something here to connect with, work through, learn from, or just a nugget to think about.  I want you to be blessed along with me.

Some things are not a coincidence ...

I received my breast cancer diagnosis on 3/31/23.  Today, exactly one year later on 3/31/24, we celebrate Easter and we leave on our cruise.  You just can't plan it like this.

Nick LOVES vacations!  He planned this cruise knowing it was far enough out from the completion of my treatment to actually happen.  We've never been on a cruise.  His thoughts were of me being able to relax, while he and the kids have plenty to do.  We've been on the ship 5 hours now. It's Perfection!!!  Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas looks to be exactly what Nick wanted.

Bumps in the road almost derailed us.  My side effects and hospitalizations created delays all through this past year.  The timing was split second.  When I was finally well enough to make the final decision to come on the cruise; my oxygen had to be ordered by the next day!  So exactly 2 weeks ago yesterday, this all became possible.  Truly, by the skin of my teeth!

Today we separate the cancer from the other healing.  We celebrate the miracle that I am cancer FREE and my treatments are finished.  We celebrate the miracle of Jesus resurrection, our Savior.  We celebrate God's gift of healing and receive renewal of our bodies and minds!

All of my other healing will take a long time.  I will keep posting but not as often.  We are setting those troubles aside for the time being.

Thank you so much for following my journey.  I will continue to be grateful and thankful always!
