First of all, an uploaded a picture upside down. Not sure why.

Second, ‘twas a year ago I was up in Minnesota, hoping to just get on the liver transplant list. By this time I was being discussed as an important and urgent addition to the list and late tomorrow morning, I would’ve found out at 4 o’clock. As I was walking around, a group of nurses were talking and one of them said congratulations to me. I didn’t know why until she said that it was because I was on the organ transplant list. I didn’t know whether to believe her or not. I was in a hazy mood at best. But all three of the nurses were certain I was on the list.

As it turned out, I WAS on the list as of 8 PM the day before. My nurse  forgot to tell me!! That’s today one year ago.

Two days later on Saturday, at around 1 PM, I was told they had a liver for me, and I would have surgery the next day. And if you haven’t heard, I did indeed have that surgery, and if you were wondering, I made it through just fine and I am writing this.

Also, fun story. I had a blood test two days ago. The test said I had deadly red cell distribution score of 127. As I was still living, I jokingly remarked to my mom that they probably just forgot a decimal. Turns out, they did! My score was 12.7. So good news, I’m still alive…again!
