Journal entry by Kyle Scott —
Jarod & I met with my oncologist on Wednesday 4/10 and I will be doing ongoing weekly chemo/targeted therapy treatments every Friday starting this week. Treatment will continue on an ongoing basis. I will also need to have the fluid compressing my lung(s) drained periodically if it continues to come back. I’m hoping it won’t need to be weekly, but it might be. I’m being evaluated for clinical trials to see if there is one that might be a good fit for me. I’m also trying to get scheduled for another consult with Mayo Clinic. I’m hoping for 3 years or MORE, but on average a person with a fast recurrence of stage 4 ovarian cancer of my grade and type lives an average of about a year with treatment. I’m feisty & hoping for longer (again 3 years or MORE). I’m not sure yet how long I will be able to work until I see how the treatments and everything go. We are struggling with the news a bit, but we are okay. But I don’t really feel like talking about it much. ❤️
