Kyle’s Story

Site created on December 5, 2021

Hello beloved friends and family of Kyle-

A hard update:

Early Tuesday morning, November 30th, Kyle was found unresponsive while visiting family in California.  Kyle had spent the day surfing and having a nice visit with his great aunt, Dorothy and uncle Dave.   Kyle was rushed to emergency and an MRI scan showed Kyle has a large brain tumor on his frontal lobe.  That night, Kyle had emergent brain surgery to relieve pressure...

Good news!  Kyle is responsive and recognizing people/following commands.  He still has his breathing tube in-they are very hopeful he will get it out soon.

We are awaiting pathology reports that will dictate his treatment.  There are many unknowns at this point.

Please pray for Kyle, lift him up in your good spirits, and send all positive vibes his way.

His brain needs rest and we are trying to limit visitors at this time.

As you would imagine, his family is very overwhelmed; this site has been created to share stories with Kyle-I will read them to him...organize support efforts, and most of all to share updates.

Stay positive. He is receiving great care and is in the best place he could possibly be.  A beautiful irony, he is being cared for at a hospital where he used to work...

Journal entry by Hayley Brazil

6/23/22 remission!!

Kyle had an MRI this morning and a reading with his radiology oncologist today at 4pm. The doctor does not see any cancer and commented how wonderful Kyle's surgeon in Orange County truly is.

Kyle will continue his oral chemo regimen one week out of every month for at least the next 3 months.

Kyle is elated. He is doing very well; enjoying his time w family in Utah. He jumped off a 50' cliff at Sand Hollow on Father's Day.

What a blessed day. ♥️

All the love, Hayley
