Hey Team KG!
We are rejoicing today that Kyle's MRI was stable and did not show any new tumor growth! We strive to worship and praise God no matter the outcome on these days filled with 'scanxiety', but today we are especially grateful for God's goodness in walking alongside our family. Kyle will have his next MRI at Dana-Farber in Boston in May.
Kyle is doing well otherwise as he adjusts to his new Optune helmet. It's not the easiest thing to wear 24/7, but Kyle has a great attitude and Max and Ollie love having 'magic hats' that match their dad's. He's also appreciated connecting with other patients who are wearing it, including one of the priests from my childhood parish in Oklahoma.
Kyle is continuing with monthly chemo for 5 days a month and tolerating that well. Later this month we should get more detail from CeGat in Germany about when we can expect to start traveling over there for the immunotherapy experimental vaccine -- we're thinking that might start in late May or June. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of friends and colleagues who donated enough Delta SkyMiles to cover all the flights to Germany for Kyle and a companion (totaling 11 trips in the next 18 months). We are so humbled and will make the most of this unexpected opportunity to travel.
Will you join us in prayer for the miraculous healing of those who suffer from glioblastoma and for rapid advancement in science and medicine to treat the disease?
As always, we are so grateful for your love, prayers and support. We are thrilled that Kyle's quality of life is good and that we can live an 'ordinary' life most days. Even more so, it is truly amazing how the Holy Spirit finds ways to slip joy into the cracks of that mundane and ordinary life. It's the little things ... and the joy is everywhere if you look for it!
