Kylee’s Story

Site created on July 20, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Words can not express how unbelievably GRATEFUL we are for all the prayers, love and support that we have received from the AMAZING people God has placed in our lives as family and friends!!! So THANK YOU all for that and keep those prayers coming! They are working!!
Kylee is strong and giving it a good fight!
As most of you have heard she had a really bad horse accident at the rodeo. She has a severe head injury that has her in a fight for her life. She was transported up to Children's hospital in Colorado Springs where she received a life saving surgery yesterday. Through God, her strenght and amazing Doctor's and staff here she is now in ICU. They are doing a great job at keeping the pressure down in her brain and all her vitals stable.

We have a long road ahead of us, but we have faith and know that God has her wrapped in his protection and Ky has grit!!

Thank you again for all the prayers and support!!

WHEN THE IMPOSSIBLE BECOMES MIRACULOUS
When you become a mom you lose yourself to protecting and caring for your children. You will lay your life down to keep them safe, healthy and happy. Just as our Heavenly Father did for us. So the last 2 years have been devastating for my momma heart as I want nothing more than to take away all the pain and suffering my kids are enduring.
We were not optimistic that Kylee would be able to show her steer even though she has worked her hind end off this last year - but she went out there and showed him like a BOSS! God knew that was a win that my heart & our family needed in so many ways! Getting 1st in her class was a bonus that brought her tremendous joy- just look at her face!
When we went to Kylee’s check up in Denver 2 weeks ago the rehab Dr told me statistics show 99% of people who don’t follow a command and emerge from the disorder of consciousness state within 30 days of sustaining an injury like Kylee’s don’t ever come out of it and aren’t able to ever follow a command - Kylee was in that state for 3 months. He has never seen it for himself either - his words “She is a MIRACLE”!
When you have a God, family, friends and community like ours how can you not be in the 1%!! We are only able to fight this battle because of the army behind us! This road is long and hard and we are extremely thankful for the soldiers that keep picking us up and pushing us forward!
A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR ARMY!!!
Thank you La Plata County Fair for making this dream possible!! Thank you Qualls’ Family for buying Kylee’s steer and supporting 4-H!! Thank you to our Team Kylee that helped us survive and thrive the week of fair (and the last 2 years)!! Thank you 4-H families for rooting Ky on and being so kind and patient!!
