Karen will be having her third round of radiation for new brain tumors that continue to form this Tuesday, May 14th. She will have a brain MRI Monday to determine how many tumors are there to be treated. This round of radiation will be done using the Gamma Knife technology which is way more fine tuned than her previous treatments which will be hopefully more effective and with less side effects. 

Her third round of the new chemo treatment was suspended due to concerns for her liver. Treatment going forward will be determined after another CT scan at the end of the month. 

Prayers appreciated as we navigate the next steps for her health. While Karen continues to recover physically and PT helps with a lot of those issues, the mental recovery is much harder and causing daily issues. The tumors, chemo, and overall trauma have created many gaps in Karen’s cognitive abilities for day to day tasks that come and go, making it hard to determine the help and support we need. We have amazing people helping and supporting us as much as they can, it is just hard to clearly state the needs we are facing due to there ever changing nature. 

Current Financial Support Needs:

• For treatments and supplements not covered by insurance
• House cleaning ($300/month) 
• Interviewing/hiring a part or full time nanny (estimated at $1600- $3200/month)
• Alexander’s formula, due to allergies/sensitivities he is on a special European version ($250/month)
• Household bills, anything helps as Ray’s work is limited due to Karen’s needs changing daily.
