"I wanted to share some information about the donations that were made for Kurt's Church in Fimon (Italy) to close out this caringbridge site for my brother. My family and I, along with my sister Kim, planned a trip to visit my son Nathan, who is studying Catholic Studies in Rome this Easter. During our trip, we decided to meet up with Kurt's work friends and the friends from the Italian neighborhood/church he was a part of.
On Monday, April 1st, one of Kurt's former colleagues helped us meet up with a group of people for dinner, where we celebrated Kurt's life over Italian pizza and beer. The next morning, April 2nd, we visited the church and delivered the donations from Kurt's funeral to the current Pastor. They will use the funds to build a bench with Kurt's name on it, and the rest will go towards general parish needs.
I want to thank everyone for their support of my brother and my family. It was heartwarming to meet all of Kurt's 'family' in Italy, and the warmth of this group was truly overwhelming."
