Journal entry by Jeff Anderson —
It has been a while and we have some relevant news to share.
Kris started chemo meds in late Feb. Over the past few weeks we began seeing some decline in some of her abilities, noticeably communication. We had a scheduled appointment last Monday with her oncologist, and ended up getting an MRI on Tuesday. Unfortunately it showed a lot of swelling had returned. Not sure why exactly this is, but our best guess is the medication.
We made the decision to switch chemo meds, changing from a pill medication to an infused medication. This took place on Wednesday. This new med will also work to reduce swelling. We also re-started a steroid on Monday and continue to take that for swelling as well.
So it was a bit of a tough week but she's doing better and has no ill effects of the infusion on Wednesday. We have additional scheduled infusions every couple of weeks and will meet regularly with her oncologist.
