Journal entry by Kristi Kevelin —
Yesterday was the first round of chemo. It was quite the day as I had labs, Dr. visit, chemo education, actual chemo, and iron infusion, social worker visit and dietician visit. All in all it went fairly well. The social worker filled out my social security disability application as I will not be able to work through the majority of my treatment. I am so thankful for the care team at NUMC, they take care of everything from coordinating all of my appointments to doing the SS paperwork. I pretty much just need to show up! :)
Thank you to everyone who followed my Facebook post and offered prayers, good vibes and support. It really means a lot. It was nice to read comments when I had the down time and didn't want to be in my own head.
For those that know me well, I don't typically share a lot of personal stuff on Facebook, I'm the one who typically posts jokes or funnies that I find. So please don't be too surprised if I battle this with that same humor! I'm not sure that I know how to do it any other way!
Thank you again for all of the love support and prayers!
