Sign In to Show Your SupportHi all - it's been awhile since I've written. I find it a challenge to go on about the "state of the cancer" but here goes.
The good news: Functionally I can do much more than back in September. I can walk around the house - almost like a normal person. Being able to move around with a walker was quite positive, but I much prefer walking. Walking has enabled me to be able to cook again . The benefits include my perception that the food tastes better at home than at the hospital / SNF but also there's the advantage that hot food is hot and salads are cold. I really didn't think food temperature mattered much to me, but I was wrong. Plus now it's been warm enough to eat outside and that's a joy.
In addition to the functional observations, this week I had another set of scans (MRI brain and CT (the rest of me)). In contrast to earlier scans which showed shrinkage of most of the tumors, I have a few new tumors and little shrinkage. The results this time are considered "concerning, but not actionable yet" (my oncologist). We will repeat scans in 4-8 weeks rather than 12. He has a plan. (Important note to self - this might be his way of saying "I've got this, lady, you can relax for now" - yes I message him 12 hours after I see the results - there is some advantage to online medical records:)
Other than waiting for test results (a full time pastime), we are getting down to Pacific Grove and enjoying the beach a few days a week. Casper continues to bounce around the house. Spring flowers are blooming in the garden.
Looking forward to seeing more of you as the weather continues to warm up and we can be outside.
Hugs,
Kristi
