A new update from Jess:
Thank you so much for those who continue to pray for us! We continue to feel the affects of your prayers as we navigate through this new normal. Kris has not needed to go back to work, which has been really helpful as we continue to visit doctors and have physical therapy almost daily. Today we had a follow up appointment with an hematologist. When Kris checked out of the hospital he was told he was pre-diabetic and anemic. We’ve gone to several doctors to learn why his red blood cell count is low. This follow-up appointment was encouraging. After a CT scan it looks as though there are no signs of internal bleeding or cancer, which were the two things we were most concerned about. It also appears his organs are all functioning properly. However, the red blood cell count is still low, thought it is rising slowly. We would love prayer that those will continue to rise without intervention.
On another note, during physical therapy at cardiac rehab, they have discovered a sporadic irregular heart rhythm. This could be a side effect of the heart failure, or the cause of it, we don’t know. Please pray that our cardiologist would have the wisdom to direct us in this.
Lastly, as the school year ends and the kids are around more, we are transitioning to another new normal. We hope to do a family vacation in Maine, I am helping coach a couple weeks of camp, etc. Please pray for our family to grow together this summer. Kris is still not fully cleared for all activity, and we will still be going to doctor appointments. Honestly, I anticipate summer bringing additional stress from having more people in the house and trying to manage all the schedules.
Thank you so much for continuing to pray and walk with us.
