Journal

Hello to all of you who have followed my beloved wife Kirsti’s journey in the past month and a half.  I decided to make one last post.  This post is one of thanksgiving to all of you who have followed us on this journey and have sent our family love in so many ways whether with prayers, spiritual support, hospital visits, food, gift cards, financial gifts, overnight stays at the hospital, beautiful posts on Caring Bridge and well wishes of all kinds, sacred gifts and flowers, numerous stories shared about Kirsti, humor, or being with us at the funeral and life celebration the next day.  I know I speak for my kids that you ALL helped us shoulder this burden and without your devotion to our family in this time of need I really don’t know how we would have fared through it all.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

There is one last thought I would like to say, and I am saying this for my wife as she would not have talked about herself in this way. She took to heart what Jesus said in Matthew 25:31-46. This is the passage where Jesus talks about what you did for the least of my brothers you did for me.

I learned much from Kirsti from the way she followed this passage and other similar passages.  I remember many times her seeing someone along the roadway who was truly downtrodden and in need of help and telling me we had to go back and give that person what we could.  I would say that it will take us a long way to get back to that spot.  She would inevitably tell me it didn’t matter we had to go back.  Kirsti lived that passage from Matthew.  She was always helping those with needs.  To her, this is what Christianity was all about.  This was a quality that Kirsti saw in my mother, a devout Catholic, whom she greatly admired.

I feel humbled to have been allowed to share my life with one having such a beautiful heart.  Though, like my mother, not understood by everyone she was admired and loved by most. We love you Kirsti loving wife, mother and friend.  You gave so much of your life to us and you will be greatly missed.

Again, thank you all for your immense support.

With Love in Christ,
Chuck Anderson
