Journal entry by Katie Barry —
Most followers of this site already know the final update. Kirsten passed away in the arms of her husband, Dan, shrouded in the love and prayers from all of you.
Everyone that knew Kirsten would describe her as faithful. She was perhaps the most faithful follower of Christ I have ever met. She was non-judgmental and generous. She lived in the spirit of kindness and found genuine joy in helping others. Her spirit is desperately missed by those of us who knew her and loved her. I have been astounded by the support and concern that her spirit garnered from those whose path she never crossed.
While we all mourn her passing, and weep for Dan and their children, please know that she asked for continued prayers after her death -- prayers for her soul and prayers for her family.
I have updated the "ways to help" tab to include the meal train and amazon wish list started by some of her amazing friends in Charlottesville. These are two wonderful ways of supporting Dan as he cares for his young children in this heart-breaking time.
In the future, a memory book will be created for Lucy and Ben to be shared with them as they get older. Please, think of your memories of Kirsten, big or small. Feel free to share in the comments if you like.
xoxo
