Today was a big day and an answered prayer!!! Kirby got discharged today. It was a wonderful moment to walk by the nurses station cheering him on as he got to finally walk outside in 40 days. Our plan is to fly back tomorrow and get settled in, and develop our new normal.

With that being said Kirby can not wait to see all of you back at home and share his appreciation but we just ask you give us some time to develop a new routine and get settled into the many dressing changes to come throughout the next months to year. So don't feel like you have to rush to come say Hi.

Although we are done with the hospital stay we are still not done with the many visits, stretching, PT, and medications. We are almost to the top of the mountain but will still be at least a year before everything goes back to as normal as can be.
