Newest Update

Journal entry by Kirby Andersen

Family and friends, Gail and I moved back home to Tulsa last Friday. It has been so good to see our family and a number of friends already.

It has been wonderful to not have daily radiation treatments! At my doctor's urging however, I will continue hormone therapy for at least another six months. I will then return to Houston for follow up scans. After that, I will get PSA tests over the next four year. Assuming no significant increase in my PSA after four years, they will be able to declare "cured". While that will be good to hear, I believe God has eradicated the cancer once and for all.

I'll update you all here in six months. For now, I want to say thank you again for all the prayer support, words of encouragement, texts, calls, cards, and acts of kindness. Gail and I have been overwhelmed with your support and God's goodness to us over the last year and a half. When we moved to Houston two months ago, we trusted that He would be with us as He promised. And yet, we had no idea of all He would do for us and provide for us. Side effects have been negligible. Energy has been great. We've been able to carry on daily activities without missing a beat. He has provided everything we needed and beyond what we could have imagined. And we are closer together than we've ever been. We know that the way He cared for us these past two months will be the way He will care and provide for us in the future.

We are so grateful for each of you. I'll take your continued prayer support when you think of me. I'll be glad when the hormone therapy stops. In the meantime, I'll continue to do what I can with good nutrition and I'm going to up my exercise game.

Thank you for your friendship! I'll keep you posted along the way.
