Kevin’s Story

Site created on November 9, 2023

After several days of Kevin feeling run down with a fever he went into urgent care on 11/08/2033 where they transferred him to the ER in the Hibbing/Virginia area. He was then assessed to be too acute for their hospital with a heart rate over 145, and was taken by ambulance to Essentia in Duluth where he remains in the ICU. This site is a way to update his family and friends on how he’s doing as he may have a long road of healing ahead of him.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Brooke LeClaire

Kevin is doing really well.  Sorry for the lack of updates.  Nothing changes from day to day at this point. He's getting around with a walker, sleeping in his hospital bed, eating a bit more, and healing well.  Hes struggling a bit with numbness and tingling in his feet that we’ll address at his first follow up tomorrow with cardiology.  Otherwise he’s plugging away and just getting stronger and stronger. ♥️  We’re so enjoying having him home.

If you’d like to support him at this time, Walmart gift cards are in need since that’s the only way he can get supplies right now.  They can be sent to:

I will post another update after his first follow up tomorrow. In the meantime look at his badass scars!  😳  From the bottom up, drain tubes, open heart scar, his top left is his pacemaker.  Not pictured is the black and blue all the way down his leg where they stripped the vessel in his leg to put in his heart. 😬
