Journal entry by Kim Van Nortwick —
Hi everyone! So, I had my first chemo treatment last Thursday, and wow, has it wreaked havoc on my body. Not surprised by that, because I've done my research and have also gleaned much from friends who have experienced it. I've had some really nasty nausea and awful exhaustion since Thursday, with today being the most "normal" feeling day since; I felt like a productive human being. This is quite a battle, and it's just begun. But I've got to press on, to win against this monster.
My husband Brian and daughter Michele have been amazing...pulling together to do the stuff around the house that I've just not been able to do. Visiting with our son and daughter-in-love, Brian Jr. and Bethany, and our new grandson, Bryce...priceless, and the best medicine for this Mimi.
I have been so blessed by so many people's texts, cards, comments here and on Facebook, gifts, and many prayers of support and encouragement. Please keep those prayers going, as they are carrying me through this challenging time.
I have my next treatment tomorrow (Wednesday). I will update as I'm able. Thanks for hanging in there with me and praying and showing support, giving encouragement. It means so much to me. Love ya's!❤️
