"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." - Matthew 7:24-25
It is coming up on almost a year since Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer. A year full of ups and downs, a few setbacks, and small and large victories. But one thing that stayed the same throughout it all; trusting God and His plans for Kim, even during the storms.
I think this Bible verse stands true for the cancer journeys, particularly Kim's journey. Because her 'house' (her life) was built on God's firm foundation 'rock' - even through all the storms being thrown her way she hasn't fallen, and will not fall.
Kim's cancer journey is now experiencing a small bump in the road. Kim has had some infection and pain in her right breast where the cancer was located. Her doctors are being extra cautious and have placed Kim on some antibiotics while also requesting an ultrasound and MRI tomorrow to get a clear understanding of what is going on. Kim is asking for all her prayer warriors to pray. Kim said to me tonight in a text - "I'd appreciate prayer for tomorrow because that's what got me this far. Don't want to stop praising God for all his blessing and for being the great physician." So please join me in a prayer for Kim.
PRAISES: I want to take a moment and thank God for the great summer Kim was able to have free of chemo and radiation. Praising God with new beginning in the growth of new hair - she is loving that her hair is growing back. Most of all, God's continued blessings and answered prayers throughout this journey.
PRAYER REQUESTS: Guidance for the doctors and technicians tomorrow during the scan. That the Lord provides peace to Kim as she undergoes the testing and awaiting the results. That the infection and pain can be healed.
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Kim's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
