Hello friends and family (and friends and family of Krista)!
Three weeks have gone by since the transplant surgery, and I have never felt such an outpouring of love and support as I have in this short time. I have truly felt so supported and loved through this whole process, and I want to thank all of you for all of the kind words, flowers, meals, care packages, and cards. Recovery has been tough but it has also been so uplifting in so many ways, and that is all thanks to you!
I also was lucky to have my dad and sister Kelsey come out to LA to help take care of me for the week following surgery. It’s been so nice to focus fully on healing, and I wouldn’t be able to do that without such a wonderful support system!
I am still definitely recovering, but the healing process has gone smoothly so far! My incision scars are healing nicely, the brain fog is subsiding, and I’m slowly getting my full mobility back. My biggest challenge now is reminding myself to take it easy - even if I can do most movements and activities, I get fatigued really quickly!
Matt (my fiancé, for those who don’t know him) has been my main caretaker over the past three weeks, and he has been an absolute angel! Driving me to and from my appointments, cooking meals, always offering me pillows and blankets, the list goes on. He has made my recovery possible by removing all of my daily stressors, allowing me to focus on my health!
This past Monday, I was cleared by the surgeon to go back to work, which was perfect timing (I finished Pokémon scarlet on Friday, and I was starting to get antsy lol). It’s been a gentle transition back to working, and my team has been super understanding which I am incredibly appreciative of!
Thank you all again for every bit of positive energy you’ve sent to me and to Krista over the past three weeks. We are so blessed to have so many caring and thoughtful people in our lives!
Rinn
