Psalm 30:2

"Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me."

This verse spoke to me this morning. It has been 1 month since my surgery, a surgery four and a half years in the making and my recovery is going much better than I could have ever hoped for. God is so good and none of us are really deserving of his love and mercy but He made a way through his only son, Jesus. He has made a way for me in my times of need throughout this entire journey. Esophageal cancer patients do not survive long without the surgery needed to remove the cancer from their bodies. Yet here I am. And, the miracle of a second chance to do the surgery which if you read my last post was textbook successful. I’ve been through the fire and have been truly blessed by the team of people he put into play to bring me to this point. I believe His presence was in the operating room as it has been many times. And he is with me in my recovery. I’m eating well despite having a smaller stomach, I’m holding weight and should be off of the feeding tube in another week or so. Jesus wants us to be whole, physically, mentally and spiritually. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Each of us has only so much time on this earth and none of us know when our time is up. I believe when it’s my time I will be with Him. Not because I’m worthy but because he made a way by his death and resurrection. And it will be beyond anything I can ever imagine.
