Journal entry by Allison Bonander —
It’s been a moment since we have updated you on Kent’s status. Thank you to all who are still checking in and inquiring about how he is doing.
- Kent has been cleared to drive. Nancy sends him on errands to town and they both enjoy the new freedom.
- Kent continues to attend follow up visits with neurology and neurosurgery teams. All his spinal hardware remains in tact and in the correct positions.
- No matter how much prodding, he still refuses to watch the rest of the Breaking Bad dvd set his children bought him for Christmas more than five years ago…so his “I just haven’t had the time” argument really isn’t holding up.
Today February 25, Kent had surgery to repair a separated shoulder that was caused by the accident. His family has visited with the surgeons who were pleased with the result of the operation. Kent has been fitted with a sling and will recover at home where the first priority is to allow the shoulder to heal properly. After this, Kent will return to physical therapy.
We are pleased every day with the time we are granted with Kent and with each other. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
This process is long. Recovery is constant. We are all relying on our support system to help us as we continue down this long road.
Hug your loved ones and if anyone is interested in a box set of DVDs, apparently we have some abailable.
Patients and caregivers love hearing from you; add a comment to show your support.
