Journal entry by Kally Coleman —
I've started this post and restarted it countless times over days that have blurred together... Just over 3 weeks ago, Kent and his team decided it was time to end treatment and enter hospice. We did okay the first week at home, but he had a pain event we couldn't get under control and he has been at a beautiful hospice facility since. As I type this he is sleeping comfortably in a bed that adjoins mine and for the first time in months, his pain is almost completely controlled. 🙏
Kent is spending his time with family and has even gotten in a few board games where no one was spared any shit-talk. (And no, no one lets him win just because he has cancer.) The staff here love him and he continues to touch lives with his beautiful spirit and never-ending gratitude.
Please keep leaving comments here on CaringBridge or on this post on Facebook, but please don't send FB messages or texts. He loves to read comments as he can, but gets a bit overwhelmed and confused when there is too much information coming to his phone.
We both send our love and ask that you keep sending us love, light, and prayers ❤️
