Happy fall everyone! Hope everyone has been happy and healthy. The last three months have flown by and lots of exciting things have happened and are coming with the holidays approaching.

Dad had his check up with Dr. Parseghian a couple weeks ago and although some of his bloodwork had elevated levels the overall cancer didn't grow drastically but there was also no shrinkage which of course was a let down. Dr. Parseghian made sure that this news wasn't detrimental and instead decided it was time to shake the chemo up for dad so he's embarked on a different cocktail for the next few months. It's an "old friend" that he's had before. He had some side effects last time on it so we will watch out for those and fingers crossed this catches the cancer off guard and puts it back in decline.

In the meantime, mom and dad have been staying busy! Mom spent over a week away from dad for the first time in years, spending time with her best friend Sherea in Atlanta before they headed up to Northern VA for their 50th high school reunion where I can only imagine all the trouble they got into with old friends! FYI she still is recovering from all the fun she had ha! She more than deserved this trip and I'm just so thankful that dad was able to have Reggie come down to spend some time with him. I hear they brewed some beer- which I'll report back on over Thanksgiving to see if it's up to their previous standards!

Dad started the new chemo regimen this week with slight side effects: fatigue mainly. He's still riding his bike- he's my fitness hero let me tell you. They are planning to head to my Aunt Pam and Uncle Gary's in western North Carolina this weekend for a week to get out of town and enjoy the marvel that fall foliage brings to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Thanksgiving is then around the corner with my Aunt Kay flying in and then my dad's 70th birthday which they will be celebrating in Puerto Rico with their dear friends Reggie and Nora. I know my brothers and I are so happy that my parents, especially my dad, are still pushing through and are enjoying life. We all know that life is short, so make sure to spend it with the people who matter and experience what the world has to offer. Thanks again for being apart of this journey and always thinking of us. We are always thinking of you and are are enormously thankful to have you in our lives.

P.S. As you know, my dad is the BIGGEST birthday diva so if you can mark your calendars to say a big HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY to the man himself on November 28th, I know he would just love it ;P hahaha
