Kenny’s Story

Site created on September 22, 2021

The Cole Family is so thankful and overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support and prayers for our dad and family.  We're using Caring Bridge to give updates to everyone in a consistent format, and for specific prayer requests to be known throughout the treatment.  We know that God is faithful, has a plan, and hears our prayers.  James 5:16 "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."  John 15:7 "If you remain in me and my Words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given to you."

Background: Dad came to TN to officiate a wedding this past weekend.  He was exhausted most of the week prior, feeling a little weak and had a cough, but he had a negative covid test (and had been vaccinated).  Prior to the wedding, he had a very low oxygen reading of 65, but in typical Kenny Cole fashion wanted to go on with the wedding and sat on a stool to perform the ceremony with labored breathing and slurred words.  Dad has invested in many lives through pre-marital counseling, wedding ceremonies, and conducting funerals.  It is his passion to bring Christ to our lives during those major life events.

He left the wedding immediately for the ER and was admitted to the hospital.  After many tests, more negative covid tests, and labs, the diagnosis is severe staph Pneumonia and sepsis, which is being treated with antibiotics in the ICU while on a ventilator.  Though last Saturday seems forever ago, it's still hard to tell how his body will respond.  Currently we are praying and waiting for the antibiotics to do their job and specifically praying for Dad's body to respond to the antibiotics.

If you know Dad, let us assure you that he wants you to know Jesus, to believe that God created the world, that man's sin separated us from a perfect God, but God provided a way for us to live forever with Him in Heaven through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.  Even now, you can believe this.  Ask Jesus to enter your heart and forgive you from your sins to spend eternity in Heaven with your Creator.

Kenny Cole needs your prayers.  He needs you to cry out to Jesus, praying for him.  We know this world is not our home, but we are praying for healing, recovery, wisdom from doctors, and Dad's body to respond to the antibiotic treatments.  Thank you for joining us in this prayer.

For those distant friends not familiar with our local church, you may google Kenny's testimony at Bennett Switch Community Church, Kokomo.   You can either view on facebook or scroll on down until you can click on Nov. 28th service. Kenny chose to intertwine his message with worship songs led by his family:  From left, Jonathan's family of wife Jenny, Jon on bass guitar or lead, Alivia on guitar; Jaclyn and family, husband Matt on guitar, Lily, Caleb on drums; Emily and Donna.  Benjamin was leading worship at his own church in Westfield this day.   This is a tribute to your thousands of prayers which God heard and blessed!!!!   Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!  Praise God forever and ever!!!!  Milestone for this week:  Kenny is now driving, including his tractor!
