Ken’s Story

Site created on June 4, 2018

Ken is a husband, father, grandfather, and friend who has deeply affected and is still touching many lives. But he first identifies as a child of God, and a follower of Jesus. If you know Ken, you know that he is a special man who always puts the needs of others before himself.

His battle with cancer started just under 5 years ago. Diagnosed with renal cancer (kidney) in 2013, he had surgery to remove a tumor and we thought that might be the end of it. As many of you know, God had other plans. A year later, tumors were found on his lungs and in his abdomen. Radiation did ok in shrinking these, but since then, he has dealt with significant pain and discomfort...but he has managed it well.

Now to the recent news. On Saturday June 2nd, Ken awoke with significant paralysis and was having a seizure. He was taken to Christ Hospital (Cincinnati) where it was determined that there were new tumors in his brain. On Sunday, June 3rd, he was doing much better but had become weak and was still experiencing some tremors in his left hand. After some new medicines to control this, it was decided to send him to icu so he could be monitored more closely. The meds have made him VERY drowsy, but each hour since he came to icu he has shown slightly more responsiveness.

We, his family, have set up this site to keep his loved ones and friends updated on his condition. All of us are weary and though we want to talk with you, we are drained. So this site will also hopefully be a good medium to achieve that on a more global level. We welcome you to this site, thank you for your care and concern, and we covet your prayers. We are leaning hard on God our rock, but this is hard (pun kind of intended). Please feel free to leave comments here and we welcome you sharing the address to this site to anyone who might know Ken and who wants to be updated.
