Kenneth Rhea Hiten 

August 15, 1957 – February 24, 2023

Wichita, Kansas – Ken Hiten, age 65, died February 24, 2023. Ken was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on August 15, 1957, to parents Agatha Hiten and A.K Hiten. Ken proudly served in the military for 17 years and retired from the Air Force in 1994. 

Ken not only dropped everything to take care of his wife Anne but would also drop anything to be there for friends, neighbors, and family. Ken really enjoyed his grand kids, you could instantly tell the joy on their faces being in his presence. From taking the kids fishing, to sledding, to catching butterflies. He was always making sure each kid felt special by treating them to all the sweets, blowing all the bubbles they could find in the garage, and always picking them up and swinging them around. He always made sure the kids took the time to take in and appreciate the simple things, such as smelling the flowers or the spearmint in their flower beds. Ken and Anne thrived on going to many Chiefs games with their friends, one of them being when Ken proposed to Anne. Most weeks you could find Ken and Anne playing darts with friends. He rarely lost a game, but there also wasn’t anything ken wasn’t good at. 

Even though Ken battled Glioblastoma, the last ten months, he always found a way to keep us laughing and smiling through the heartache and tough times that this disease had imposed on not only his life but his family too. 

His spirit lives on in the lives of those he leaves behind, including his four children, Josh (Maddy) Hiten, Kyndal (Josh) Medina, Michelle (TJ) Dixon, and Lauren (Alonzo) Adams, nine grandchildren, and his beloved wife and life partner of 9 years, Annette “Anne” Hiten.

He is also survived by his brother Kevin, and mother, Agatha.

He is preceded in death by his dad A.K. and his older brother Keith.

A rosary will be held on Friday, March 3rd at 7 p.m. with visitation to follow. Funeral Mass Saturday, March 4th at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Catholic Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E 21st street, Wichita, KS 67206. After mass Saturday will be full Military service at Lakeview Cemetery, 12100 E 13th St N, Wichita, Ks 67206
