Journal entry by Abby Hayes

On Friday 1/04/19 at 6:20pm Kelsie a vibrant 17 year old high school student at Pioneer High School was at a bus stop in Esparto, CA  waiting for her mother to pick her up and take her to the movies to meet friends. While Kelsie was making her way through the crosswalk to meet her mom, waiting for her on the other side of the street she was struck by a vehicle. Thankfully her mom was there and was able to talk to her and keep her awake until medical personnel could get her loaded into the ambulance, and then into the helicopter to be transported to UC Davis Children’s Hospital in Sacramento where she was cared for by the Trauma and Ortho teams. Kelsie’s injuries are 4 pelvic fractures, 2 broken bones in her nose, and lots of scrapes and bruises to her knees and face. Kelsie has a long road to recovery as she will have lots of Dr. appointments, and physical therapy, and still plans on maintaining a 4.0 GPA, and ending her Junior year on a good note! Kelsie is 1 of 4 children being raised by a single mom, this family could use lots of prayers, food, and monetary donations to help with gas, transportation to and from Dr visits and any other unforeseen costs down the road. To donate meals follow her families meal train, for any monetary donations please go to her Go Fund Me. Thank you in advance for all of you prayers, and donations!
