Kelly’s Story

Site created on June 2, 2023

Hello everyone! As many of Kelly's friends and family know she was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, as well as second type of lymphoma called Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma. This was very heart breaking news but we all know how strong our mom is, and we know she will overcome this!

We are all overwhelmed by the support we have received for our mom. We appreciate everyone's help and kind words. We have decided to create this page to post updates on how Kelly is doing so we can track her progress through chemo as she kicks this cancer's ass!! If you have any kind words to say to Kelly feel free to post them, it will definitely lift her spirits!!

Thank you!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Dylan Wiese

Hi everyone! Dylan here. Wanted to give everyone an update on my mom this past week.

First, I wanted to say thank you for everyone’s thoughts and prayers throughout the week! It sure has helped getting through these difficult times.

I brought my mom down to the hospital on Monday to finish out her chemo treatments and undergo her stem cell transplant. This week she completed 18 doses of chemotherapy to kill all the remaining cancer cells, but as well as her white/red blood cells and platelets. She did a really great job (like she has during her whole treatment) at battle against the painful headaches and nausea caused from the chemo. Tomorrow she will receive her stem cell transplant. The transplant will only take about 10-20 minutes, which is crazy to think since it took 28 hours to collect the 2.5 million of her own stem cells needed for the transplant! Once the transplant is over she will remain in the hospital for two more weeks while the new cells find their way to her bone marrow and begin to create healthy cells. The hard part is over, now just a waiting game!

Cameron and I cannot express enough how proud we are of my mom. She has pushed herself to the limits throughout this whole process fighting this disease off. She is easily the strongest and most determined person I know. No matter how gloomy the day was, my mom always had bright spirit and was determined to beat this cancer. And she did exactly that!!! We love you so much mom❤️

Please keep those prayers and nice messages coming!

Thank you,

Dylan
