Journal entry by Kelly Oberschlake —
Well, it truly is the gift that keeps on giving! I attended a work function this week and haven’t been wearing a prosthesis. Why? Because they just are uncomfortable and feel so odd. I had a customer come up to me and point at my chest and say “they didn’t fix that shit!?!?” So I opted for the prosthesis and will do for days to come.
Still no update on surgery. Dr is concerned bc the surgery is micro vascular and the skin could die bc of my clotting disorder. I am having additional blood work done tomorrow and it will help him make a decision on what is best!
I am just thankful for another day. Another day I can be with my amazing husband and girls. They are my world!!!!
A friend in my support group had a double mastectomy three years ago, with my same cancer and it is back in her liver and bones. She has a limited time, unless a miracle occurs.
Love everyday, live everyday and praise God every day! The good Lord got me this far and I am oh so grateful!!!
