Journal entry by Kelly Neff

Hi all,

It's hard to believe that it's been one year ago this month that I was diagnosed.  I recently went back and scrolled through my pictures, calendar of so many appointments, and comments of encouragement. It's uplifting to see what has happened in 12 months...

I'm happy to report that my first-remission PET scan in February came back clear of cancer - praise the Lord! The only thing of note was that my thymus has reacted to the chemo and has grown slightly in size. (The thymus gland is a small organ that lies in the upper chest under the breastbone. It makes white blood cells - lymphocytes - which protect the body against infections.) We’ll do another PET in May so they can keep an eye on it but it’s not cancer, and they believe it won't be an area of concern.

There's been a lot of local tragedy and sorrow in our community these past few weeks and it's made our hearts heavy.  Tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, and rejoice that heaven is our true home.

LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered— how fleeting my life is.
You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.”
We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it.
And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.
Psalm 39:4-7
