Well today didn't go as well as we thought it would however the news we did get was all positive.
The restricted diet has been lifted however Dr. Leibovich doesn't want Keith to go back to whole milk and lots of butter. Keith mentioned he really wants to try KFC's Chicken & Donuts (which is a REAL thing), and Dr. Leibovich replied "To me that just looks GROSS". As most of you know, there is one person in our relationship that is more of a rule follower than the other, and so Keith will adjust his diet.
The bloodwork they drew earlier today hadn't come back yet to see where the tumor markers are at, (we anticipate gone) and they drew blood a 2nd time at the end our day to check Keith's testosterone levels.
We will be coming back again on March 25th for a CT scan and another consultation. Not exactly what we wanted to hear however when it pertains to your life/health you do what the Dr. says.
Dr. Leibovich also explained that going forward Keith will have blood draws every other month.
The Mayo will send a "blood kit" with vials and express packaging so that Keith's primary physician can do the blood draw and express it to the Mayo. Every other time (every 4th month) Keith will have to physically return to the Mayo for complete bloodwork.
Dr. Leibovich reminded Keith that his normal energy level will take 4-5 months to return. We didn't mention Keith's super human regenerative powers, however Dr. Leibovich did acknowledge it without saying the exact words so we knew what he was referring to.
